Michael Brown

Defense attorney Michael Brown brings to the firm nearly a decade of experience in criminal defense practice and a “holistically aggressive” approach to protecting his clients’ rights. His work has been instrumental in the success of several high-profile defense cases.

Michael went into the practice of law to stand up for regular people who often don’t have a voice in our society, especially in the criminal justice system. While in college at Kent State, Michael had three professors approach him and encourage him to pursue a career in law. He was known for voicing his opinion and defending it to others, and especially for speaking up on behalf of others who were disadvantaged or forgotten by those in power.

As a criminal defense attorney, Michael gets great satisfaction from making sure that his clients’ stories are heard, and from giving them their life back after a criminal charge. Michael forces the government to see that there is a real person behind every case number. He never forgets who he is working for, and colleagues respect his deep dedication, creative case strategy, and the effort he puts into every case.

Because Michael genuinely sees his clients, he understands what’s at stake for them. That motivates him to fight even harder, and clients appreciate his transparency, communication and responsiveness as they go through one of the hardest times of their lives.

Michael feels that defending his clients is a calling, not just a job. He puts in long hours because he knows his work matters. When not at the office, Michael is active in his community as a wrestling and football coach, with a commitment to helping students excel not just athletically, but in life outside the classroom or gym. He also enjoys fly fishing, target shooting, spending time with his dogs, writing and reading, listening to music, attending sporting events, and collecting art (including his 37 tattoos).
